Outline
Tokoname high school has Academic Course and Non-Academic Courses such as Ceramic Arts Course, Creative Design Course and International Understanding Course. Each course can fit each students’ needs and demands.
Located at the top of a greenery hill in the west part of Chita Peninsula, we can see Centrair International Airport, Ise Bay and the Suzuka Mountains.
School motto “Tetsu”
This school motto means “to challenge anything positively and never give up”. We wish our students make an effort to achieve their goals.
Our educational goals
Based on the school motto, “Tetsu”, we train our students to be patient and skillful.We make them sophisticated with devotion to serve the nation as well as the world. We respect each individual and make his/her dreams come true.
Courses
Each grade level is composed of 8 classes with about 40 students per class.
Characteristics

International Understanding Course
We have International Understanding Course in Academic Course. Students in this course can change their course when they become Grade 11 if they want to. -
Technical Courses
In Technical Courses, students can learn practical skills for their future jobs. -
Study and club activities
Students can attend club activities and make an achievement in the extra-curricular activities.
School logo
This school logo is the combination of letters, “T”, “S” and “H” which represent “Tokoname Senior High School” . Making the letter ‘S’ shaped into ∞ which means “infinity”. This refers to students’ unlimited potentials. The letter “H” with extended horizontal line represents the ground where this school is built. The upper part of the logo represents the sky of Tokoname, which spreads out to the world and the bottom part represents Ise Bay, the view of which we can see from our school.
School anthem
The lyrics of this school anthem was written by Shuntaro Tanikawa, one of the most famous poets in Japan. The composer is Kensaku Tanikawa, the son of Shuntaro Tanikawa.
*Tetsuzo Tanikawa, father of Shuntaro, was a philosopher who was born in Tokoname.
